Meet Coach Wesley

Coach Wesley

In November 2017 I was diagnosed for Hodgkins Lymphoma at thirty-one

Having cancer, especially since I never smoked, ate junk food most of the time and tried to exercise at least a couple times a week, really shook me, and like all life crises, made me pause to re-evaluate what's important and what's not

During and after five and half months of chemo treatment I took a deeper interest in spirituality, and learning in depth about Buddhism and some of the Christian mystics. I began to meditate more and feel less worry about what was out of my control. I renewed my desire to become a coach again, and made mistakes on my way to getting clarity on what kind of coaching I really felt called to be and do

Then in 2022, I read a book called The Power Of Ritual, and I knew before finishing this book that I desired to learn as much about ritual as I was able to. It fascinated me how common and vital ritual once was - as a psychological practice to make sense of our self and the shifting tides of the world lived in - and how the practice has become less common today

I began to remember significant points in my life that were marked with ritual: birthdays, baptism, graduating classes in school, Sunday worship service, receiving the Eagle Scout Award and a few other experiences that stood out in memory

Each of these experiences brought with it a depth of meaning and change; the necessary inner mentality to develop and step into a new phase of life

Over the course of weeks and months I became much clearer about whom I felt called to serve - men in their thirties to forties - who have experienced quite a lot to greatly desire a powerful and significant shift from just chasing external riches, to living with an awakened connection to the heart and mind, with clarity, deeper meaning and inner direction

So, as a man nearing forty, I feel and know, having experienced what I've experienced, that is where I need to be, right now

Thanks for reading this, and I'm so glad you're here
